Every year, Elite Model Look winner Sara Ras predicts which fashion items will take over her social media feed. Let’s take a look at the trends of 2021.

1. 1. Low-rise denim/Y2K Fashion
      Back to the 90s! After models as Bella Hadid started to wear low-rise jeans in public combined with items that were fashionable in the early 2000s, also known as Y2K fashion. A lot of people followed her lead: Youtuber Jasmine Le decided to switch up her style to Y2K: in a Youtube video she explains how low-rise jeans even became one of her most worn items of 2021.

   2. Layers on layers
      To some people, it might be a strange idea to combine two tops or jackets. The 20-year old Youtuber Linh Truong makes it work: she combines this corset with a floral blouse and a pastel green blazer on top.

   3. Long coats
      Don’t be afraid to channel your inner penguin or flamingo during the winter: Youtuber and fashion icon Bestdressed shows how cosy, comfortable and fashionable long coats can be.

   4. Square-toed shoes
      Square-toed shoes were high fashion in the 1930s. They made their comeback in 2021 and are again considered ‘insanely chic’. Travel and fashion Youtuber Elena Taber decided to put on her square-toe heeled boots and tell her followers how confident she feels in this outfit.

   5.  Zebra print
      &
   6. The colour purple/lilac
      Dutch Influencer Joy, also known for her Youtube Channel Beautynezz made sure to look as trendy as possible in her purple dress and zebra printed boots and scarf.

      Emma Chamberlain is known to be the most influential YouTubers when it comes to fashion. Next to bringing scrunchies and Uggs back to 2021, she made Saar’s seventh and eighth prediction come true by combining a mini-skirt with a short jacket.

1. Poncho’s
   Wearing a poncho might give you flashbacks to the year 2014, runways designers decided it’s time to make this trendy again by providing a new colour palette and textures. This last outfit defines 2021: a thrifted pink poncho, combined with a mini-skirt and square-toed heels.
