Invisible Scars – Exploring the silent epidemic of femicide

Some wounds don’t bleed — but they never heal. Invisible Scars is a raw and intimate documentary exploring the silent epidemic of femicide — the murder of women because they are women. Told through real stories, voices of survivors, and those left behind, this film confronts the hidden truths society often ignores.

Every 10 days in Belgium, a woman loses her life at the hands of a partner or ex-partner. In the Netherlands, the number is even higher, with a woman being murdered every 8 days. This documentary gives voice to those silenced — not just the victims, but the families, the scars, and the unanswered questions they leave behind. This is not just a statistic. This is a reality. One we must face. Watch. Reflect. Speak up.
