Why Liang (24) fell in love with Belgium, but can’t easily stay: ‘I will miss meeting people from all over the world if I have to go back’
When studying abroad, chances are that you will fall in love with all the new places. That is also the case for Liang Hong (24), an international student who studies at the VUB in Brussels. However, Liang can’t easily stay in Belgium.
Liang Hong (24) decided to leave Beijing, China and move abroad. It was Belgium that caught her attention, leaving behind her family and friends to study a master’s in communication studies at the VUB in Brussels. She has been here for more than a year now and immediately fell in love with the country.
It doesn’t take long for Liang to make up her mind about staying or leaving. In fact, she would love to live in Belgium. But it’s not that easy. Liang needs to make difficult choices that will determine where she will be in the future. Listen to her full story down below.
