‘There are more and more situations where journalists are in danger’, UNESCO hosts digital conference on press freedom

The Netherlands hosted this year’s World Press Freedom Conference by UNESCO at the World Forum in The Hague. The conference, which was scheduled for April earlier this year, normally hosts thousands of guests, from journalists to entrepreneurs and partisans from all over the world. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s conference was held digitally.

With the help of the Youth Newsroom, a group of 15 young journalists reporting from the venue, participants were able to catch up on anything happening in The Hague, with interviews and reports on the different speakers and moderators. Host Humberto Tan talked to prominent figures, such as Amal Clooney and Christiane Amanpour. We have taken a look behind the scenes of the conference:

You can find the reports of the Youth Newsroom on their website.
